The alarm went off after the friend he had left with could no longer contact him.
A 67-year-old man who went out on the morning of Friday 25 September in search of mushrooms in the Piazzatorre area, in the upper Brembana valley, has disappeared. The mushroom maker was in the company of a friend, but they were separated during the search.
Since then he has not been able to contact him and has alerted the rescue. Although the searches were activated immediately, so far they have not returned any results. Patrol work is made even more difficult by the splashing snow that has fallen on our mountains, the darkness and the cold.
In the field there are firefighters and alpine rescue teams that also patrol with the help of groups of dogs.
The two men are not from the area and it was the first time they had frequented the Piazzatorre forests.
