Piacenza, December 20, 2020 – Two sisters Has been invested from a car late yesterday afternoon to Ferrai di Vernasca, in Piacentino. One woman died, while the other is hospitalized in serious condition at Parma hospital. The man behind the wheel of the car, who later tested positive for alcohol, did not stop to help after the accident, but was located by the carabinieri.
The dead woman is named Ester Crovetti, 55, while the 53-year-old sister is Maura. The two women were walking their dog along the road from Alseno to Vernasca. The car would have skidded around the corner and, after colliding with two garbage containers, it fell on the women. The car lost a license plate, so the military managed to locate the driver, a 35-year-old Italian worker, within a couple of hours. During interrogation, the man, already taken to prison, reported that he fell asleep while driving.
