A white wooden box, with a cushion of red roses on top, next to the coffin a wreath of white flowers from the Consulate General of France: it opened at 9:30, in the Sala della Passione del Brera photo gallery, the funeral home for the last farewell of Philippe Daverio, art historian, lecturer, essayist, television disseminator and former councilor for culture of the Milan City Council, died on the night of September 1 to 2 at the Istituto dei Tumori in Milan. In a month he would have turned 71. Waiting for the hearse were many journalists and a few dozen people who immediately queued up. In a few minutes the widow also arrived, Elena Gregorior that he wanted to place the decoration of the French Legion of Honor on the coffin. A bow tie, Daverio’s glasses and a red rose are also placed on the coffin. The funeral home will remain open until 6:30 p.m.
