The figures provided by the Lombardy Region on the spread of Covid-19 infection in our territory were updated to Tuesday, September 8.
Heals and Discharges increased (+158) Against 20,781 swabs performed, 271 new positives were found. The relationship between the number of swabs performed and the positives found is 1.3%.
We remind you that the increase in positive cases, in Lombardy as in other regions, must always be related to the number of swabs performed. Without ever forgetting that, if we think in terms of absolute comparisons, the number of inhabitants of Lombardy is equal to 1/6 of the national population.
“Even today Lombardy has exceeded the 20 thousand tampons manufactured (20,781) that have allowed discovering 271 positivities”, commented the regional councilor for Wellbeing. We are looking for and finding the virus in the area with follow-up – he continued – of the reports and through contact tracing. A virus that in 90 percent of cases hides dangerously behind asymptomaticity.
Swabs in airports
“From August 19 until today – recalled the head of the Welfare delegation in the regional council – we carried out 31,316 swabs at Lombard airports to citizens returning from Greece, Spain, Croatia and Malta: 23,729 in Malpensa (after a slowdown in communication of results due to the number of swabs performed and a problem found in the reference laboratory, specific measures have been taken to strengthen processing and the situation is now substantially resolved), 1,994 in Linate and 5,593 in the ‘drive structure through ‘installed at the Bergamo fair for passengers coming from Orio al Serio airport ».
Serological to school personnel
More than half of the teachers and school operators have booked the serological test: 108,264 out of 206,687 units in Lombardy. Of these, 4,078 people tested positive and were swabbed immediately.
As every day, on the home page of the Lombardy Region website (www.regione.lombardia.it), a navigable ‘dashboard’ with all the updated data is available.
