A new home delivery project designed for the city and neighboring countries by the Duc and the Municipality. More than 100 stores have already been added in the city center. Bergamo smart shopping starts on November 28: purchases are delivered to the customer’s home in 90 minutes.
The Bergamo Urban Commercial District (Duc), in collaboration with the Bergamo City Council and Poste Italiane, presented the morning of Saturday, November 21 Bergamo Smart Shopping, a home delivery project, the first in Italy, designed ad hoc for the city of Bergamo, the districts and towns closest to the city center.. The project will start on Saturday, November 28, and will involve all commercial activities that have decided to be part of it.
“In a really difficult and uncertain period, such as the current one, it is more important than ever to make clients feel safe, comfortable and pampered – the promoters explain -. That is why Duc proposes a home delivery project so that customers and citizens do not miss the opportunity to make their purchases, receiving their purchases directly at their home or office. The goal is that with Bergamo Smart Shopping people can regain the lightness of their purchase and that they can encourage even the most reluctant to shop online, also taking advantage of it to give away at Christmas.
“Bergamo Smart Shopping is an experimentation project – explains the president of Duc Nicola Viscardi – in which the District has been thinking for a long time and that with the current situation could become strategic for many of our stores.
I believe that this service is a strong differentiating lever compared to other commercial polarities and also to the Internet giants: the convenience of home delivery without sacrificing the professionalism of our merchants, a faster service than many platforms and, last but not least least important, a green and sustainable form of delivery.
An ambitious project, which has these main objectives:
– Support the commercial activities of the city, seriously affected by the health emergency that affected Bergamo;
– Contribute to making the delivery process within the Municipality more efficient, in terms of reducing environmental impact through the use of eco-sustainable means;
– Offer retailers the opportunity to acquire a more diverse target audience;
– Improve the shopping experience for end customers.
The service is ambitious, but very simple and immediate, and provides for the possibility of delivering, to the applicants’ homes, the purchases made in the stores participating in the project and operating in the four areas of Bergamo identified that are part of the perimeter traced by the Duc: Downtown, Upper Town, Borgo Palazzo and Borgo Santa Caterina. Using the service is very easy: after the purchase in the store, in the market or through the social channels of the merchants themselves, it will be possible to book the delivery of the merchandise directly to your home, even within the day, through a dedicated delivery service.
With an established minimum cost, standard delivery is free for the customer and takes place in half a day. If you choose the instant delivery method, the shipment will be delivered in just 90 minutes from the order, with a small surcharge that will be borne by the customer. The service is active from Monday to Saturday.
An innovative and environmentally friendly project: all deliveries will be made with fully electric or hybrid vehicles. The delivery service will initially cover the municipalities of: Bergamo, Almè, Azzano San Paolo, Curno, Lallio, Mozzo, Orio al Serio, Paladina, Pedrengo, Ponteranica, Ranica, Scanzorosciate, Seriate, Sorisole, Stezzano, Torre Boldone, Treviolo, Valbrembo , Zanica.
Bergamo Smart Shopping aims high and does not want to limit itself only to the city center. In the coming months, the service will also expand to the most peripheral neighborhoods and areas, involving more and more merchants and customers.
There are already more than 100 companies that have joined the service, but their number is undoubtedly destined to increase in the coming days. Participating stores will be recognizable thanks to a special window sticker placed at the entrance of their business.
