In the “orange” days of small municipalities even outside the region
On the days marked with orange during the Christmas holidays (December 28-29-30 and January 4) it will be possible for those who reside in municipalities with less than five thousand inhabitants to move between the 5th and the 22nd also in another region, always however, less than 30 km from your residence and without traveling to the provincial capitals. This is what the government clarifies in updating the Faq on the Palazzo Chigi website, underlining that, therefore, “it will also be possible to visit friends and family within these hours and territorial spaces.”

Will I be allowed to visit friends or family during the holidays?
The answer to this question varies depending on the days, the place of departure and the destination of your trip. From December 21, 2020 to January 6, 2021, all movements are prohibited, even to visit friends or family, that involve leaving the Region in which you live or in which you have residence.
In addition, between December 24 and January 6, the current provisions establish that:
On holidays and days before holidays (December 24, 25, 26, 27 and 31 and January 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6) it will be possible, once a day, to travel to visit family or friends, even to others. Municipalities, but always and only within the same Region, between 5 and 22 and up to a maximum of two people. In any case, the person or two people who move can bring with them children under 14 years of age (or other children under 14 over which the same people exercise parental authority) and disabled or non-self-sufficient people who live with them;
On December 28, 29 and 30 and January 4, it will be possible to circulate freely, between 5:00 and 22:00, within the Municipality itself: therefore it will also be possible to visit friends and family within these hours and territorial spaces. On the same days it will also be possible, once a day, to travel to visit family or friends, in a Municipality other than yours, but always and only within the same Region, between 5 and 22 and within the maximum limit of two people . The person or two people who move may bring with them children under 14 years of age (or other children under 14 over whom the same people exercise parental authority) and disabled or non-self-sufficient people who live with them;
Always on December 28, 29, 30 and January 4, residents in a Municipality of up to 5,000 inhabitants may move freely, between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., within 30 km of the limit of their Municipality (therefore possibly also in another Region), with the prohibition, however, of moving to the provincial capitals: consequently, it will also be possible to visit friends and family within these hours and territorial spaces.
