The telephone records are already on the table of the prosecutor Nadia La Femina and relate the last dramatic hours of life of the lawyer Salvatore Manca, better known as Cicino, who died on the morning of August 22 in the emergency service of the Olbia hospital. In the smartphone of Manca (61 years old, from Sassari) there is information that could be decisive to reconstruct the 17 hours spent in an isolated room of the Juan Pablo II hospital. A very long period of time during which the patient would not only have become aware of his very serious condition, but would have repeatedly begged for help with chest pains, even asking for the intervention of the Carabinieri. In the file opened against unknown persons for involuntary manslaughter, there is a list of people who spoke by phone with Manca (even a few dozen minutes before his death), all witnesses to the investigation. According to rumors, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Temple will start from the times and recipients of the telephone calls to verify the decisive circumstances of the case.
Desperate
The dramatic history of Manca begins in Portobello di Gallura (Aglientu) around 4 in the afternoon on August 21. Seized by an illness (excruciating chest pains and vomiting), the professional is transferred by ambulance to Olbia, where he stops living on the morning of the 22nd. According to the first results of the autopsy (carried out after the exhumation of Manca’s body) the cause of death is an arctic desiccation. The Prosecutor’s Office of the Temple is verifying if the lawyer died due to an alleged lack of diagnosis of the pathology. According to the investigations carried out here and a complaint filed with the Tempio Public Prosecutor’s Office by lawyer Sebastiano Tola (the victim’s family lawyer), Salvatore Manca clearly perceived that he was in a very high risk situation. Speaking on the phone with some people, he said that he had repeatedly asked doctors for help with his chest pains. There is another circumstance, yet to be demonstrated, on which the attention of the Prosecutor’s Office is focused. Manca would have said by phone that the reason for the isolation to which he was subjected was anti-Covid measures. The lawyer had been subjected to a swab, the result of which would not arrive until the afternoon of August 22, therefore after his death.
The yellow of calls
In the records kept by the Public Ministry of Temple there are some telephone calls that the lawyer would have received from fixed users other than relatives. In particular, some calls, which lasted several minutes, reached Manca users on the morning of Saturday, August 22. It is not ruled out that someone, perhaps even medical personnel, aware of the seriousness of the situation, has decided to listen to the patient directly. All the facts on which the prosecutor Gregorio Capasso and the prosecutor Nadia La Femina try to shed light. A new consultation with the forensic doctor after the results of the autopsy is not excluded.
