To formalize the return of the region to an area with a low risk of contagion, President Eugenio Giani is directly the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, a moment before entering the meeting of the Council of Ministers who must decide what restrictive measures to adopt for the entire Christmas period. .
The fact of returning to the yellow zone from midnight and one minute of the night between Saturday and Sunday, however, does not at all mean that in Tuscany it is possible to circulate freely throughout the Christmas period.
President Giani himself explains it precisely: “There will be a relaxation of measures for 4 days, with the possibility, for example, that bars and restaurants will reopen to the public. But as of Christmas Eve, then, the restrictive measures that the government will decide for the whole country will begin ”.
In all likelihood, from January 24 to 6, Italy will be the red zone on holidays and pre-holidays and the orange zone on weekdays.
Therefore, Tuscany will enjoy the relaxation of the pandemic containment measures only for 4 days before the end of the year and then from January 7.
“Right now – says Giani – I am satisfied with the decision taken by Minister Speranza because it is the recognition of an objective result achieved thanks to the commitment that our Region has made to counteract the pandemic. We have shown that Tuscany is one of the most virtuous regions in the fight against Covid, having reached (again) a low number of infections and a strong reduction in intensive care ”.
