The director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, recalled today by relaunching a tweet the recommendation he made in March to avoid greeting each other with the elbow because it does not allow observing the recommended safety distance to avoid infection.
“When greeting people, it is best to avoid touching your elbows because that moves them less than a meter away. I like to put a hand on my heart to greet people these days,” wrote the economist Diana Ortega in a message retweeted by Ghebreyesus.
