Open arms towards Palermo

The Spanish-flagged ship had returned to navigation after several months in which it remained anchored in an Iberian port. In recent days, along the stretch of sea where the Libyan migration route runs, members of the Open Arms have embarked 278 people who were inside a vehicle in difficulty.

The ship of the Spanish NGO has sailed towards malt, but local authorities have repeatedly denied authorization to disembark. Meanwhile, another NGO ship is expected to arrive in the central Mediterranean in the next few hours, and in particular the Italian Mare Jonio.
