Christmas and New Years “armored” within the municipal limits and, from December 21 to January 6, blocking of movements between regions and prohibition of reaching second homes. The Covid decree approved by the Council of Ministers confirmed the expectations of a government squeeze in the holidays, to shield a possible third wave of the Coronavirus. Along with the decree law, the Regions are currently examining a new Dpcm. The provision, the text of which is subject to the latest submissions, will be signed in the evening by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and will be in effect from December 4 to January 15. The new decree law, composed of only two articles, approved on the night of December 2 and in force since December 3, served to give “coverage” to the Christmas squeeze, which will be detailed in the Dpcm. Here, in a nutshell, is what, according to the latest government measures, can be done and, at the same time, cannot be done.
Movements
From December 21 to January 6, 2021, it is prohibited to travel between different regions (including those to or from the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano), with the exception of trips motivated by proven work needs, situations of need or health reasons . On December 25 and 26 and January 1, 2021, travel between different municipalities is also prohibited, with the same exceptions (proven work needs, situations of need or health reasons). It is always possible, even from December 21 to January 6, to return to one’s residence, domicile or home.

Second box
From December 21 to January 6, it is forbidden to move to second homes that are in a Region or Autonomous Province other than one’s own. On December 25 and 26 and January 1, the prohibition also applies to second homes located in a municipality other than one’s own.
Family reunification
He kept a hard line on blocking travel between regions on vacation: the request to allow meetings based on the degree of kinship did not pass in the council of ministers that ended in the evening. If the general principle is, therefore, no extra-regional family reunification, exceptions are expected: this is the case of minors who have parents in different regions, or those who need to assist only one parent (for example, those who they have the right to law 104, as it already happens in the red zones).
Restaurants
It will be possible to go out for lunch at Christmas, December 26, New Years and Epiphany. Consumption at the table is allowed for a maximum of four people per table, unless they all live together. Before Christmas, the whole of Italy will become the yellow zone, so restaurants and bars will be open until 6 p.m. Banning dinners at the hotel on December 31.
