The restrictions to contain the Covid-19 infection will be in effect from today, January 17, until March 5.

These are the color changes for the regions: South Tyrol, Lombardy and Sicily they enter the red area. Instead, nine regions pass through the orange area: Abruzzo, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia, Umbria and Valle D’Aosta. They are in the orange zone Calabria, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto. Only 5 regions and one autonomous province remain in yellow: Molise, Basilicata, Campania, Sardinia, Tuscany and Trentino.

The ban on moving between regions has been confirmed throughout Italy until February 15. Until March 5, however, the rule that allows a maximum of two people (in addition to children under 14 years of age who live together) visit family or friends in the region, if you are in the yellow zone, it will remain valid once a day, or in the municipality if it is in the orange or red zone.

What happens at school

  • the upper secondary schools adopt flexible forms in the didactic organization so that, effective January 18, 2021, face-to-face teaching activities are guaranteed at least 50% and up to a maximum of 75% of the student population, without prejudice to the different provisions identified by the Regions. The rest of the activity will be carried out remotely. The possibility of carrying out face-to-face activities is guaranteed if the use of laboratories is necessary or to guarantee the effective school inclusion of students with disabilities or with special educational needs.
  • At educational services for children, in preschool it’s in the first cycle of education (primary and lower secondary schools) teaching continues to take place entirely in presence. The use of respiratory protection devices is mandatory, except for children under 6 years of age and for people with pathologies or disabilities incompatible with the use of the mask.
  • It is possible to relax in the presence of selective competition tests, with a number of candidates not exceeding 30 for each session or test place. Therefore, the tests of the extraordinary I and II grade secondary competition, interrupted in November, will be rescheduled and the tests of the other procedures of the competition will gradually begin.
  • Educational trips, exchange or twinning initiatives, guided visits and educational outings are suspended, except for activities related to the transversal competences and orientation itineraries (PCTO).
  • The meetings of the collegiate bodies may be held remotely.

In areas characterized by a scenario of “maximum severity and a high level of risk”, the so-called red areas, educational services for infancy, nursery school, primary school and the first year of lower secondary school are maintained.

The teaching activities in the rest of the cases will be carried out exclusively remotely. In any case, the possibility of carrying out face-to-face activities is maintained if the use of laboratories is necessary or to guarantee the effective school inclusion of students with disabilities and in general with special educational needs.
