All this on the table in the confrontation between the government and the regions in view of the launch of the new Dpcm for Christmas, which Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will sign in the next few hours and which will replace the provision that expires on December 3.

In the orange zone, according to the rules already adopted, it is not allowed to leave the municipality itself. More freedom of movement could be given to those who want to reach their second home within the yellow zone before blocking.

The position of the regions was briefly illustrated by Giovanni Toti, Governor of Liguria. “The regions are asking for a greater comparison that gives transparency to the decision-making process that concerns the country’s division into bands. The regions reiterate that it is necessary to simplify and clarify the decision-making process, to know how the parameters are interpreted, ”says Toti.

“Almost all the governors have stressed that it is necessary to shorten the exit mechanism of an area. In the current Dpcm this process takes at least 21 calendar days, we believe it can be faster. Then we must make the numbers in which the assigning an area to the regions ”, he adds.

“The principle of the banning of gatherings should be the cornerstone of the next Dpcm, also due to a criterion of mere equity with respect to the various activities,” he says, recalling the scenarios seen during the weekend in the main cities, with queues in front of stores. At school, the position of the governors is clear: we have to start over in January. “The regions reiterated that a discussion to reopen a week before the Christmas holidays seems surreal. We need a table to get ready for the January opening. We hope that the confrontation will be productive, we want to make our contribution in a situation where the epidemic is waning almost everywhere, ”he says.
