the Basic income It has been recognized, as of March 2019, to citizens who have requested it for a period of 18 months. In fact, the citizenship income expires and to continue receiving it after the first year and a half it will be necessary submit a new request.

We reply to a Money.it reader who writes us:

“Hello, I am a Recipient from the Democratic Republic of the Congo that I would like to understand for the renewal of the grant. I submitted an application in April 2019 I received a communication for the withdrawal of the first monthly payment on 05/27/2019 my request was in the knowledge, the renewal request for another 18 monthly payments should be made in January 2021 according to my Calculations I end on first part of the months in November, stop in December and request in January, or send the request in December 2020. Thank you very much your regular reader waiting for an answer “

Citizenship Income Renewal

By renew application for citizenship income You have to wait one month from the expiration of the grant without receiving it.

In fact, Decree 4/2019, in article 3, section 6, specifies that “The Rdc is recognized for the period during which the beneficiary is in the conditions provided for in article 2 and, in any case, for a continuous period not exceeding eighteen months. The Rdc can be renewed, after suspending its delivery for a period of one month before each renewal. The suspension does not operate in the case of the Citizenship Pension. “

The one-month suspension, therefore, required to submit a renewal application, could have a double value: if on the one hand the month without receiving payment, the 27 of the following month that of the last reload, it could also be interpreted as next month.

In the first case, consequently, the presentation of the renewal request could be submitted from the 27th of the month following the last recharge, in the second, however, it would be necessary to wait for the first days of the month following the one in which the grant is received.

At the moment, however, it is not clear how Article 3, paragraph 6 of Decree 4/2019 will be interpreted.

In your case, therefore, having received the first payment in May 2019, you will receive the last recharge on October 27. You could apply at the end of November and get the first payment of the new tranche as early as December, if instead you are allowed to submit only after the following month has passed, you can apply in early December by receiving the first payment of the additional 18 months only in January 2021.

My advice, in this sense, is to wait for the INPS instructions in this regard, which, in any case, should arrive shortly since in just under 10 days many beneficiaries will receive the last recharge (those who, having submitted an application in March, received the first payment in April 2019).
