Christmas and New Year bans
December 17, 2020
It will be during today’s summits between Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and the majority heads of delegation that the anti-Covid measures for the Christmas period will be officially defined. Now the introduction of new measures that will limit commercial openings and mobility on days considered to be of greatest risk is certain, all to avoid the arrival in January of a third wave of infections.
Until December 20 inclusive, everything must continue as it is today, while from the 21st the national orange zone will come into force, with the blocking of mobility between different regions, subject to known exceptions (proven work, health or urgent reasons ).
Shops will remain open, bars and restaurants must close at 6:00 p.m., for all curfews at 10:00 p.m.
All of Italy should enter the red zone from December 24 to 27: everything closed except for food stores, pharmacies, tobacconists, kiosks and bookstores.
In addition, you will not be able to leave your municipality (except for the usual reasons), you can go out to go to mass, but not to go to the homes of the relatives for lunch or dinner, perhaps only extended to two relatives beyond the family unit.
From December 28 to 30, the measures are made more flexible (without prejudice to the cessation of mobility between regions), while from December 31 to January 3 I return to the red zone, it seems forbidden to leave home except for proven reasons. Also in this case the objective is to block dinners and domestic gatherings.
From January 4 to 6, a new orange zone and movements between regions were allowed again from January 7, the day for which the gradual return to class of the Superiors students was initially planned, today it is no longer safe.
