But in the darkness of the deserted city due to the curfew, the cyclist is brutally attacked by six bandits who surround him, beat him with unprecedented violence and flee with his scooter. Shocking scenes, filmed in a video that quickly went viral on social media last night. On Facebook, a collection is launched to help the victim, 52, a father of two, buy a new moped, an essential tool to continue working.
But it also increases the outrage for a criminal action committed against a defenseless person. The episode should have happened in the Calata Capodichino area, not far from Piazza Di Vittorio. The cyclist is blocked by six people driving two scooters. They cut his way, blocked the escape routes. And they start hitting him repeatedly. Bumps and slaps even on the helmet. That resists, tries to avoid the blows. But criminals do not give up, on the contrary, they become even more violent.
They give it a jerk, it seems to be able to avoid them but the motorcycle slips and falls to the pavement. The thieves even forcibly rip it off the bike, leave it on the ground, get in the vehicle, and flee with the scooter. Until last night, the police and carabinieri offices did not report a complaint for this episode. The images, however, have turned the net and we are now investigating to try to identify those responsible. It will not be easy, because the bandits were with their faces covered and from the video there are no useful details to track the vehicles used. Meanwhile, outrage is mounting on social media. The comments against the authors of the robbery were harsh.

This is not our Naples.” Green Europe Regional Councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli says: “Whoever is a victim of such barbarism must be helped by the healthy part of the city.” The Facebook page “Ninorita Castagner” launches a solidarity initiative and asks to raise funds to help the young man buy a new scooter. But no compensation will be enough to dispel the feeling of anger that these images provoke, the gratuitous violence against a precarious and defenseless worker.
