His father is very old and died a natural death, without symptoms of Coronavirus, but his death was classified as Covid. The story is told by a Genoese professional living in the Pavia area, Alberto Stelluti Scala, 60, a former director of the Ubs bank, who in recent days has helped his father Giuseppe, who died in Casarza Ligure at the age of 88 (Genoa ) on August 24. Although in the months prior to his death he never presented the typical symptoms of the coronavirus (fever, pneumonia, loss of smell, difficulty breathing), his death was classified as due to Covid. It should be noted that in his drama the story is not emblematic: numbers in hand, stories of this type do not affect the statistics on deaths from coronavirus.
The document
Stelluti Scala has made available to the Messenger Service all the documentation and asks for answers regarding a procedure that, according to him, raises many questions. “My father died at home in his bed, lovingly consoled by his loved ones, in a totally natural way and as a result of a substantial number of previous pathologies – Stelluti explains -. In fact, he had a compromised heart condition that had resulted in 100% disability, he was a patient with kidney problems and dialysis and suffered from other conditions. However, he never got sick from Covid, never registered the typical symptoms or had to be hospitalized for any pathology related to the coronavirus ”.
Swabbing was not performed
In fact, Giuseppe Scala has never been subjected -not even in the most aggressive phase of the Coronavirus and despite his advanced age- to the swab test: “Neither the family doctor nor other professionals who followed him for various reasons considered it necessary to swab it when my father lived in a controlled situation, he was not exposed to the virus and he did not have any symptoms of Covid. He simply had a heart that was no longer working properly, at 25% functioning; and he was dialyzed. “So why his death was classified as due to Covid when he died? “Because, as stated in the ASL4 attestation (Social and Health District 16 Liguria, ed), the so-called Covid Salme Attestation (that is, the emergency indications related to the Covid19 epidemic in the sector funeral home, cemetery and crematorium, ed), although my father had no symptoms and was not subjected to a smear, his death should be considered by default attributed to Covid. ”
The card application
The professional wanted to see clearly: “I requested a copy of the Covid Salme Attestation in question and it says, among the four boxes to mark as the cause of my father’s death,” indeterminate (body to be considered positive). “Below, In the notes, the following is reported, as an indication for the doctor who completes and signs: “In the event that a swab has not been made, but the symptoms suggest a Covid infection, the handling of the body should be equated to a state of positivity: indeterminate tick “”. Dr. Alberto Stelluti Scala does not accept this type of approach and considers it detrimental both to the truth and to his father’s medical history, but also seriously dangerous in terms of general statistics: “Suggestive symptoms What does that mean? I think it is unacceptable that a priori the death of an elderly person who did not present any symptoms of Covid should be classified and attributed to the emergency of the Coronavirus. If this criterion, certified by the attestation in my possession, is applied to every elderly person who dies every day of natural death or of various previous morbidities, completely distorted data will emerge. I think that this type of procedure is completely incorrect on the technical level, on the formal level, but especially on the substantive one ».
Possible objections
Let’s make an objection to Dr. Stelluti Scala: how can you absolutely exclude that your father did not die of Covid? “An autopsy should be performed, but I think that forcing the common citizen to perform an autopsy at their expense to show that an elderly relative did not die of Coronavirus is an aberrational hypothesis. Since my father, as the certificate acknowledges, has not swabbed himself and has never been affected by coronavirus symptoms, it must be assumed that he did not die of Covid. So this type of claim is completely invalid, as I believe is the case in situations similar to this. The litmus test of this statement of mine is that if they were truly convinced that my father had died of Covid, the doctors could have swabbed him even when he was dead, as has been done in other cases. Instead, he did not proceed and his death is now among the Covid cases. “Why did he feel the need to inform the press of such a personal story?” Because it seemed absurd and unacceptable that my father’s death was qualified like Covid when it died in a completely natural way. If this criterion is applied on a large scale, there is concern. “
