After burning the body of his father, perhaps to make the traces disappear, and after having watched the body for hours, the boy would have wandered aimlessly. To make the macabre discovery and raise the alarm this morning, it was then the victim’s ex-wife and mother of the 23-year-old who had seen the flames in the garden but was not thinking about the crime.
The body of the 61-year-old man was in the garden of the villa and it was so small that unrecognizable. “Certainty of identity will only be obtained after DNA testing,” explained Vercelli prosecutor Pier Luigi Pianta, commenting on the investigation into the discovery of the body. However, from the first moment for the investigators there were no doubts about the victim and the fact that it was a crime. In fact, the man lived in the villa with his ex-wife, from whom he was separated, and their two children.
The investigations were directed precisely to the closest relatives of Paolo Beccuti and in particular to his son when the 23-year-old’s mother admitted that the young man had left in a state of confusion after the flames went out. The police went after the boy then managing to find it in the field of the area, not without difficulty. The 23-year-old, taken to the barracks and questioned by his mother, finally confessed to killing his father. He is now in Vercelli prison charged with voluntary murder and destruction of a corpse.
