On the first Saturday of application of the new prohibitions, the Italians respected the rules. This is demonstrated by the data of the Ministry of the Interior according to which only 2% of the controlled citizens were sanctioned. Out of 74,769 people, there were in fact 1,572 fines. A trend confirmed throughout the week: out of 450,241 controls, 6,321 people were fined. Circulars and FAQs (Answers to Frequently Asked Questions) clarify the aspects that are still in doubt regarding travel, especially between Regions of different bands and within the same Region of red and orange bands. Here are the main rules (and how to get around Italy).
If I have to move between Regions of different bands for “proven needs”, can I always use the same form?
If the move is made for the same reason (for example for work), a single module can be carried out. If, on the other hand, you have to make different trips (for example for emergencies), you will have to use different forms indicating the departure and arrival addresses.
Does moving for work require other documents?
The justification of the reason for the work can also be proven by showing the appropriate documentation provided by the employer (credentials or similar) that demonstrates the declared condition.
If I am a resident of the red zone (Calabria, Campania, Lombardy, Piedmont, Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Tuscany, Valle D’Aosta), what movements are allowed?
Within the red area, any movement is prohibited, both within the same municipality and towards neighboring municipalities (including those in the yellow or orange area), with the exception of movements motivated by proven work needs, situations of need (for example the purchase of necessary goods) or for health reasons. In these cases it is necessary to have a self-certification. It is not allowed to visit or meet with family or friends who do not live together, in any place, open or closed.
If I am a resident of the orange zone (Abruzzo, Basilicata, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Marche, Puglia, Sicilia, Umbria), what movements are allowed?
In the orange zone it is allowed to move only within its own Municipality, from 5 to 22, without having to motivate the move. From 10pm to 5am, all movements are prohibited, except those motivated by proven work needs, situations of need or health reasons. To do this, you must complete the self-certification form.
If I am in a region that has turned red or orange, can I go home, even if I live in another region?
The return to one’s residence or home is always allowed.
