“With regard to the Christmas holidays, in consideration of the current trend of the pandemic curve and in order to avoid a new resurgence of infections – we read in the report that accompanies the legislative decree – paragraph 2 is contemplated, within the territory national, the prohibition, from December 21, 2020 to January 6, 2021, of any movement in and out between the territories of different regions or autonomous provinces, and, in the days of December 25 and 26, 2020 and January 1, 2021, also the prohibition of any movement between municipalities, except movements motivated by proven work needs or situations of need or for health reasons. However, it is allowed to return to one’s residence, domicile or home “.

“Due to the evolution of the epidemiological situation related to the health emergency derived from the pandemic spread of the COVID-19 virus and the particularly generalized nature of the epidemic, in the proximity of the Christmas holidays, it is necessary to make some changes in the discipline of the measures, in order to contain and combat the aforementioned health risks, within the national territory ”, reads the explanatory report of the decree.

“First – indicates the document – in paragraph 1 We intervene within the maximum term of duration, which from thirty becomes fifty days, of the measures to face the current emergency in the most effective way, adopted by decrees of the President of the Council of Ministers, in application of the decree-laws of March 25, 2020, n. The draft decree also establishes in paragraph 3 “that in the same period from December 21, 2020 to January 6, 2021, with the decrees of the President of the Council of Ministers mentioned above, specific measures may be adopted, among those provided by Decree Law No. 2020, even regardless of the classification in risk levels and scenario ”.
