The man’s name was Oscar Perino and he was 68 years old. He lived in Chivasso, Italian municipality of the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont. He lived there with his wife and had a flower shop since 1999.

The man died at Chivasso hospital, where he lived

Oscar passed away in the hospital yesterday afternoon Chivasso. In fact, he had been there since last October 16, where he had been hospitalized because the fever did not hesitate to pass.

Oscar had discovered his relationship with Pope Francis only at the end of 2015. In that year, in fact, the Vatican had concluded the study of the genealogical tree of the Holy Father. From this it was deduced that the man had a blood bond with Bergoglio.

He had discovered in 2015 that he was related to the Pope

A year and a half ago I met a Genoa. After a celebration, in fact, the Pontiff had granted him a private audience.

Their kinship stems from the fact that the mother by Oscar Perino, Anna Demergrasso, is the cousin of Pope Francis’ mother, Regina Maria Sivori. Both women originally from Teo, a village in Cabella Ligure.

Accept, Lord, Oscar’s faithful soul that you wanted to call yourself from this world; he loosened the bondage of all his sins, he becomes a partaker of blessed peace and light without sunset, and he deserves to join his saints and elect in resurrection glory.
Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
