In FP4 I felt great, like in the first qualifying outing. Before the second, I told my crew chief that I could improve by 3 tenths, but I didn’t think I was going to get pole. Being able to do it in my second MotoGP race is incredible. But it’s only Saturday, tomorrow the difficult will come”.
This does not mean that Martin is not a surprise, even if he is the first to throw water on the fire.
“Tomorrow will be the time to be a rookie again, of course if I could win with a 20-second advantage I would, but I don’t think it’s possible. – jokes – I don’t feel pressure or have the potential to win. It is true that in the race anything can happen, but Above all, I want to be able to learn from the best and beat them when I’m ready, this is not the time. I do not intend to win, but with the objective of not making mistakes and being consistent. And if at the end of the race I can fight for the top 6 places, it will be an excellent result “.
Jorge sure is a fast learner.
“It feels good to ride this bike – he claims – I thought it was more difficult, it’s like everything was on another level, the better. Even in qualifying: I was on the edge but I didn’t go crazy. After pole position, all the members of the old Martin teams (Gresini, Aspar, KTM) came to congratulate him.
