Fabio Quartararo signs his third success of the season after Jerez’s double. The French Yamaha Petronas dominates in Catalonia, returning to the top of the World Championship, also thanks to the fall of Andrea Dovizioso after some corners, touched by the other Ducati of Johann Zarco. Valentino Rossi was also on the ground, he crashed when he was third, on the podium the two Suzuki bikes of Joan Mir – Quartararo’s first rival in the championship – and Alex Rins.

Quartararo dominated the race, starting cautiously behind his teammate Morbidelli and Rossi, then gradually growing steadily and able to maintain a pace unattainable for everyone. The Frenchman had a maximum advantage of about three seconds over Morbidelli and Rossi, before the Italian entered Turn 2 and the Roman lost competitiveness due to tire wear, surpassed by the Suzuki. In the last laps El Diablo was limited to managing the reassuring advantage, despite the fact that the fastest in the final was Mir, now his rival in the World Cup with -8.

For Andrea Dovizioso another weekend to forget, after a poor qualifying and the difficulties to mount his Ducati. Author of a good start, in which he managed to climb to the top eight positions, the Romagna rider allowed himself to be touched by Johann Zarco’s Ducati, who started despite sixth position. Very angry, Dovizioso loses contact, perhaps permanently, with the upper floors of the championship.
