Referring to the leadership in the MotoGP world championship despite not being able to stay with the leaders, Andrea Dovizioso – who spoke with Sky after the race – stated: “I don’t understand why this paradox. I live it badly, we work hard but we are slow, we fight to change certain fundamentals that can make a difference ”. Dovi also commented on his career: “At the beginning of the race I lost positions due to maneuvers by others that I had to avoid. And already there I lost four positions. So I didn’t have the rhythm to recover, I certainly felt better than last week. I know it seems easy to say that, but if I had started later I would probably have been able to keep a better pace, not at Pecco’s level, at the moment he is the best with Ducati ”.

Andrea also spoke about her state of mind, which for a few weeks has been enjoying a feeling with mixed feelings: being leading the World Cup but not having the rhythm of the first. “In terms of motivation, the approach to racing is the same, the same as always, I don’t understand why we don’t have the pace.” The Ducati rider also expressed his opinion on the Championship: “It is an even stranger World Championship than the previous ones. There are a lot of fast riders and a Mir who makes great comebacks. We still don’t have the situation under control and I’m fighting on the fastest lap. There are positives to this situation, but I don’t feel able to do what I want and therefore handle the situation. In the end, even going slowly, I bring the results home, so my season is not comparable to Lorenzo’s in 2017. Dovizioso also gave an explanation for why it is so slow compared to previous years: “My strengths from the last three years no longer work. We made a difference in certain situations, we used the front end because we didn’t have a lot of grip at the rear. This year the front tire has a lot less grip than the rear, so we lost the advantage we had. This year it drives the opposite of what it has been in the last three seasons. We are developing a set-up opposite to that of past seasons, so adaptation is not easy. And at the end of the lap it shows, the difference is here, that’s why I’m not as fast as the first.
