A figure never recorded since the start of the pandemic: the new positives in Italy in the last 24 hours are 8,804, with an increase compared to Wednesday’s figure of 1,472.
The swabs also increased, hitting a record in this case as well: those processed are in fact 162,932.
This is what emerges from reading the bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health. The total number of cases is 381,602. The death toll is growing strongly: the victims are 83, almost double the 43 on Wednesday.
Currently the positives in Italy are 99,266, 92,884 (+6,448) are people in home isolation, those hospitalized are 5,796 (+326), 586 of them in intensive care (+47 compared to Wednesday).
The region most affected by Covid-19 on the last day is Lombardy with 2,067 new cases, followed by Campania with 1,127 and Piedmont (1,033). The regions with the least infections are Basilicata (37 cases) and Molise (30). There are no Covid-free regions.
