The 23-year-old boy contracted the virus from his girlfriend in Sardinia during the holidays: “I tell my colleagues to be careful”
The one told by Mirko, a 23-year-old boy who lives in the province of Terni, in San Venanzo, really has something incredible. It is he himself who unburdens himself by saying that for almost a month he has been forced to stay at home. “Next Sunday will be four weeks of positivity in Covid, without any symptoms. The problem in my case is not the virus itself, but the fact that I have to stay home feeling good. I can’t wait for this to all end soon.
Mirko has yet to defeat the coronavirus and is therefore in solitary confinement by default at home.
Most likely, the infection occurred in Sardinia, where he spent a vacation with a couple of friends and his girlfriend (the only one who did not contract the Covid) and from whom he returned on August 17. «The first to get sick was my friend – he says – who already had a fever and a cough on his return. So I also took a swab on August 19, but it came back negative. I repeated it on the 23rd and instead the response this time was positive ».
The only symptoms Mirko reported early in the illness were loss of taste and smell, which soon returned. However, the swabs performed on September 31, 9 and finally September 14 also confirmed the positive result. «When I did the last test I thought I was finally cured – continues the young man – since in the previous one the values were low. And instead I will have to stay locked in the house, alone, waiting for the next tampon. It is the most difficult thing for an asymptomatic person like me, especially in the head ». The appeal that he now directs to his colleagues is “to be careful, keep your distance, wear the mask and when returning from areas at risk of smears and isolate yourself until you respond.” “Not so much for us – he concludes – but for our parents, grandparents and all the people around us.”
Mirko has also publicly received the solidarity of the mayor of San Venanzo, Marsilio Marinelli, who calls him every day to make sure of his condition. “Know that the whole community is close to you,” the mayor wrote in a Facebook message.
