– Chronicle, highlights
Those who lived late this morning in Milazzo, on the west coast highway, were hectic hours. A group of boys had the bad idea of braving the stormy sea for a swim in September. However, two of them had difficulty returning to shore. One immediately escaped the fury of the waves, while the second remained at the mercy of the waves for about an hour, clinging to a buoy. Taking advantage of a favorable moment, he managed to save himself, with the lifeguards who brought him to safety. Attempted by the situation and with possible hypothermia, the child was transferred to the Milazzo hospital, where he received the first treatment.
In the phase in which the rescue procedures were activated, a man from the Coast Guard jumped into the sea to try to help the boy. According to the authorities, however, he has lost control of the situation, being swept away by the waves and is currently missing. The teammates are trying to recover it, but with the passing of the minutes the risk of facing a bitter end becomes more and more concrete.
