On Thursday night, in front of their televisions, many Rossoneri fans “invented” sports directors, hoping that Milan would think of that number 11 that was giving Pioli’s eleven so many headaches. In via Aldo Rossi they not only gave us a little thought, but also sped up to immediately buy the Bodo / Glimt player. Can we talk about love at first sight? Yes and no, because the Rossoneri scouting area had been following the young Norwegian talent for some time, but the performance at San Siro served as proof of maturity, convincing the management to move towards this investment. Milan do not want to procrastinate because Manchester United are also in the player, so they will try to close out earlier in the week to give Pioli the likely last piece to complete the offensive department.
WHO IS HAUGE? – Jens Petter Hauge was born on October 12, 1999 in Bodo and grew up as a soccer player in the youth academy of the yellow and black club. His debut with the first team came in April 2016 as a substitute against Fløya: 26 minutes were enough to score a hat-trick, a dream debut for anyone. The forward stayed with Bodo / Glimt for another two seasons, moving on loan to Aalesund in 2018. An away experience before returning to base the following year: 9 goals and 3 assists in 2019, then the final explosion in 2020 with 17 goals and 11 winning passes in 20 games. The fact that Hauge was able to repeat himself against Milan also makes us understand how the numbers won in Norway are anything but random.
FEATURES – As he demonstrated at the San Siro, the Nordic footballer is a highly technical offensive winger, with an excellent shot and a remarkable ability to get his teammates out into space. From his feet came the passage of the first goal and the 3-2, without forgetting the poorly exploited pocket of Saltnes that would have led the game to extra time. Where could he play for Milan? Hauge can even reach with the left, but his favorite foot is the right: he showed the best things in the left lane, being able to aim and re-enter to try the shot or get in the middle to seek assistance. Moving him to the right would lose this important offensive production, exploiting the boy more for the center from the baseline than for insertion or conclusion. The truth is that his presence would increase the range of options for Pioli, going to insert a young prospect without especially expensive outlays. Obviously, as is clear, the boy will have to have a lot of time to fit into a completely different context: going from the Norwegian championship to the Italian is a great step, but his qualities and the rossoneri project could help him get ahead. On the other hand, the number 11 would not make the starting start, but could gradually gain space, especially if Milan were to reach the Europa League groups. The fact that his favorite role is on the left is not a problem, mainly from a center forward perspective: in the absence of Ibra or Rebic, Pioli could use Hauge on the left, allowing at least one striker on the bench.
