The Sustainable Development Protocol has been signed
“The signing of the Sustainable Development Protocol represents a great pact between institutions and companies in the achievement of sustainable development objectives through the involvement of the territory and a bottom-up commitment of citizens and companies. The challenges we face today are the transition towards sustainability, circular economy, energy from renewable sources and sustainable mobility. The Lombardy Region wants to accompany this transition, which is a priority for our regional territory and for Italy. And that sees companies as protagonists ”. This was stated by the Councilor for the Environment and Climate of the Lombardy Region, Raffaele Cattaneo, on the occasion of the signing of the Regional Protocol for Sustainable Development by the Lombardy Energy and Environment Cluster – Lombardy Energy Clean Technologies Cluster .
“The Lombardy region – continued the commissioner – is working on a sustainable development strategy on a horizon that looks at the UN 2030 agenda and the climate neutrality targets set for 2050. The path to sustainable development will have a comparable impact that of the industrial revolution and cannot be based on a short-term logic. “
In addition, we welcome the participation of companies, institutions, territories, citizens, who must be involved in this transition towards a new development model. A model that cannot be lowered from the other with laws and decrees – Cattaneo reiterated – but we must see the active participation of the protagonists of the transition towards this new development model. In Lombardy we are doing it with the involvement of all subjects in the activities of the Observatory of the Protocol for sustainable development ”.

“The environment – the curator recalled – is undoubtedly the protagonist, although sustainability looks at all areas and intersects well with industrial symbiosis. This requires a cooperative approach with all those companies looking for a development model based on sustainability and circular economy. And that is why the Lombardy Region wanted a Sustainable Development Protocol. Precisely to transform these commitments into concrete actions that look towards sustainability. The Protocol was also proposed within the framework of the United Nations ‘Acceleration Action’ Program with the commitment to monitor and report the results obtained by the action of all Lombard actors. “” In a few weeks – Cattaneo concluded – these experiences will be protagonists of the Forum for sustainable development to be organized by the Lombardy Region ”.
