A new Region ordinance is ready after the increase in Covid cases. Visits to patients admitted to hospitals and Rsa. The measures will be examined shortly by Ministers Speranza and Azzolina
CATANZARO The increase in new cases of Covid-19 in Calabria in the last two days, in parallel with what is happening in our country, worries the leaders of the Region, led by the acting president Nino Spirlì. The last two official bulletins speak of 323 new cases and 8 admissions to intensive care. Figures that could soon push the region’s leaders to make important and radical decisions, at least for the next 15 days, in an attempt to contain the increase in coronavirus cases.
THE NEW ORDER Decisions that will still have to come under the scrutiny of Ministers Speranza and Azzolina, but that are inspired by other regions, such as Lombardy, where the contagion curve in recent days has become increasingly steeper. Schools could be affected by the new measures. The Region, in fact, would be thinking of suspending face-to-face lessons for the next two weeks in secondary and secondary schools, while the new measures should not affect face-to-face teaching for primary schools and kindergartens.
HOSPITALS AND RSA However, other radical decisions should have to do with health. The Region is considering banning visits from relatives of patients admitted to hospitals, clinics and outpatient clinics and RSA. Limitations that should also affect non-urgent specialized medical examinations, while clinics and outpatient clinics should remain open for specialist visits reserved for seriously ill, cancer and disabled patients.
NIGHT STOP Finally, the Region could opt for the overnight stop of all the activities of the population between 24 and 5. A measure of two weeks but that, in extreme cases, could be extended even for more weeks.
