In Tuscany there are 29,427 cases of coronavirus positivity, 1,526 more than yesterday (1,197 identified in the course of the screening and 329 from the detection activities). New cases are 5.5% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 1.6% and reached 12,491 (42.4% of the total number of cases). The swabs performed reached 987,024, 13,369 more than yesterday. 8,886 subjects were tested (excluding control swabs), of which 17.2% were positive. Added to these are the 1105 rapid antigenic swabs that are being made today. The positive numbers are currently 15,688 today, + 9.1% compared to yesterday. There are 727 hospitalized (71 more than yesterday), of which 87 in intensive care (5 more). Unfortunately, today there are 11 new deaths: 8 men and 3 women with an average age of 86.6 years.
These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on requests from the National Civil Protection – referring to the advance of the epidemic in the region.
The average age of 1,526 cases today is about 44 years (16% are under 20, 28% between 20 and 39, 32% between 40 and 59, 17% between 60 and 79, 7% are 80 years or older).
It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.

The cases in each province
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 8,644 cases in total to date in Florence (522 more than yesterday), 1,934 in Prato (101 more), 2,061 in Pistoia (130 more), 2,190 in Massa (65 more), 3,212 in Lucca (190 more), 3,864 in Pisa (189 more), 1,790 in Livorno (119 more), 2,722 in Arezzo (110 more), 1,492 in Siena (67 more), 968 in Grosseto (33 more). There are 550 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
Therefore, there are 753 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 563 in the Northwest, 210 in the Southeast.
Tuscany ranks ninth in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 789 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 803 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The reporting provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 1,124 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 922, Florence with 855, Grosseto with 437, the lowest.
In total, 14,961 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (1,243 more than yesterday, 9.1% more).
There are 23,211 (434 more than yesterday, plus 1.9%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (ASL Center 9,988, Northwest 7,573, Southeast 5,650).
The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to COVID patients today are a total of 727 (71 more than yesterday, plus 10.8%), 87 in intensive care (5 more than yesterday, plus 6.1%).
Cured and dead
A total of 12,491 people healed (201 more than yesterday, more 1.6%): 445 people healed clinically (10 more than yesterday, more 2.3%), that is, they remained asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 12,046 (191 more than yesterday, plus 1.6%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
Unfortunately, today there are 11 new deaths: 8 men and 3 women with an average age of 86.6 years.
Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 4 in Florence, 1 in Massa Carrara, 3 in Pisa, 3 in Livorno.
1,248 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 456 in Florence, 58 in Prato, 87 in Pistoia, 189 in Massa Carrara, 149 in Lucca, 106 in Pisa, 71 in Livorno, 58 in Arezzo, 35 in Siena , 26 in Grosseto, 13 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 33.5 x 100,000 residents versus 61.4 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (97.0 x 100 000), Florence (45.1 x 100 000) and Lucca (38.4 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (11.7 x 100,000).
