A large outbreak with 18 teachers and 21 positive children, and with another 247 students in quarantine, led to the closure of a nursery school in the Milan area amid parental controversy.
It happened at the Gianni Rodari institute in Sedriano (Milan) as reported today in a local edition of Day.
At school among children in preventive quarantine, some would have already tested positive, with the balance of the outbreak reportedly set to rise.
“However, what sparked the ire of the dozens of parents involved was the lack of clarity. – writes the newspaper – in the management of the matter by the administration and direction of the nursery school. ‘We reject the lack of transparencya – explains Silvia, mother of one of the quarantined children -. The information arrived in batches and in a confusing way: on December 20 we were told that the classes involved were only four out of ten, then the rumor spread that the infected children and teachers were actually many more, on Monday the news of the school closing. If, as it seems, we already knew from Sunday or even earlier what was happening, why didn’t they tell us? We would have avoided taking the children to their grandparents before the red zone started, so instead we put the lives of our elderly in danger. ”“.
