Maturity 2021 is the first commitment that the Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi, must fulfill. For La Repubblica it was clear: “I will do it soon, within this week.”
Also in the newspaper we read some news about the final exam. Bianchi shares Azzolina’s approach: there are no writings also for 2021 and therefore there is no first test (Italian) and second (which varies according to the Institute).

Instead, Bianchi is studying the reintroduction of the multidisciplinary thesis, considered by some to be more structured and accurate than the text presented last school year, related to the discipline (or disciplines) of the second written test.
The thesis option could be a welcome return for students, a launching pad for oral maxi. Less welcome to those teachers who for years have fought against the “copy and paste” with which some students have understood the work. In any case, a subject that divides students and teachers, and that can present different levels of difficulty, depending on the environment.

The PTCO (the old School-Work Alternative) could still be the cornerstone of the oral exam. In general, the idea of putting the student’s curriculum in the center with all the experiences and skills acquired by the student is resisted.
For now, the Invalsi tests and the blocking of ballots for the final exam remain: to access Maturity, it will be necessary to have a sufficient general average. This year, then, the possibility of rejection should be reintroduced. Instead, the formula on committee members should remain unchanged: external president and internal members.
These are the first leaked indications: at the end of the week we should know the result of the reflection of the new minister.
