Turin, November 11, 2020 – Brain death by dawn, the 2-year-old girl injured in the carignano massacre. The girl had been shot in the head by a gunshot father, Alberto Accastello, who two days ago in Carignano, in the Turin area, had killed the wife Barbara Gargano, the little twin brother of the boy, Alessandro, and the dog. The man then shot himself in the head and died shortly after rescuers arrived. The girl had been admitted to the children’s hospital in Turin and her condition seemed very serious from the beginning. Currently, we learn from health sources, this afternoon’s child is in the defined phase of observation at the end of which, if no brain activity is found, death will be declared.
On Monday morning at dawn, in the small village of the city of Turin, the father first shot his wife, then the twins and the dog, and finally took his own life. Accastello turned the gun on his son and fired while he slept in the crib. This is confirmed by the autopsy carried out today at the Amedeo di Savoia by the coroner Roberto Testi, who received the assignment from the prosecutor Livia Locci. Upon arrival, the carabinieri, alerted by the brother of the man who had received the call announcing the gesture, had found his wife dead. The little brother had been rushed to hospital, where he died shortly after, while the murderer had died at home despite the immediate intervention of the 118 health workers.
