Gasping health, Marisa Melis from Quartu Sant’Elena: “Not everything is as good as they want us to believe.

Mother of a girl who suffers from a rare disease, on Radio CASTEDDU she talks about the vicissitudes she has had to face for months due to routine visits: “The waiting lists are now even longer, everything is blocked.” After several attempts made in different hospitals, the girl has been followed for some time in Cagliari: “Everything has always gone well – says the woman – but since the covid began everything has changed.”

On March 16, the girl began to gradually taper off the drug of a failed experimental cure, “then everything was shut down and we only received news from the doctors via email. Standard visits no longer exist ”. In attendance, the girl was seen in August “and we should have seen each other again in September. But we are in December and nothing: if there are problems we can send an email. Losing what was once excellence, we feel a bit neglected. Before we had the exact dates, now – the woman continues – there is no longer medical continuity ”.

Not only sick with covid, for that reason, this is the appeal launched by Marisa Melis: “If you are sick, I am not a doctor but I have to regulate myself; but how many mistakes can I make? Now my daughter follows the old cure ”.

All waiting, therefore, waiting for better times. “We feel a bit neglected, not everything is organized as well as they want us to believe.”
