It is the Forlì Teslas that bring this air of innovation to the city, with an electric car rally scheduled for Sunday 20 September. Daniele, member of Tesla Owners Italia, an association that brings together all Tesla owners in the country, introduces us to the world of “teslari” and sustainable mobility.
The world of electric cars remains a mystery to many. What does it mean for you to be part of it?
Electric cars are a family that unites us all. The electric world is something new. Many people are afraid of this news, many times they fear not knowing how to recharge the car or having other problems.
Do people ask you a lot of questions when they find out you have an electric car?
Yes. The most frequently asked question is “where do you recharge?” If you don’t have an electric car you don’t realize it, but then you realize that the charging stations are there and they are also comfortable. Then there are many other advantages. There is the exemption from the road tax, even if it is a supercar like the Tesla, then the discount on the insurance, the permission to drive on the Ztl in Forlì and other benefits.
What fascinates you about electric mobility?
Certainly eco-sustainability, but also the noise factor: in our cities there is also a lot of noise pollution, imagine what it would be like to run electric cars in the historic center. I think that all this silence would be a pleasure for the people of Forlì.
Their meeting on September 20 begins in the parking lot of the Punta di Ferro shopping center where the Tesla charging point is located. What does it mean to you to be a “teslaro”?
To date, the electric car with the most autonomy is the Tesla. Many electric cars are city cars, while Tesla has also developed a fast, full and free recharge in 15-20 minutes. The point, however, is only for the Tesla. With these advantages over the years we are going to recover the important initial expense (for the Tesla Model 3 we start from the figure of 49 thousand euros, ed).
The Tesla is basically a supercar. Can it be compared to a Lamborghini or a Ferrari?
It has terrifying acceleration. From 0 to 100 he showed that he can beat even a Ferrari during last year’s airport challenge. Electricity is instantaneous.
