M5, confused states | The HuffPost

The political leader, who has become the target of all attacks, overturns the table and flees. To show that the 5 Star Movement is approaching the States General in utter confusion. The image delivered today says it all. Vito Crimi, Regent from Grille, calls an assembly with all the deputies and senators. In the sense that you send an email with the request to participate in the meeting on Thursday at 6 pm. But twenty-four hours before the event, which promises to burn, he decides not to show up, as House and Senate group leaders will confirm later. In short, the owner will not be there to open the front door. Also because the guests are furious, not only with him but also with Davide Casaleggio, president of the Rousseau association, to whom the parliamentarians no longer want to pay the 300 euros. And that is why the son of the co-founder, playing beforehand, has put a table to his proposal for an exit strategy, which will have to be evaluated and there is no certainty that it will happen as it is.

In this heated context, there is strong pressure from the pentastelate regional councilors, who would like to be present at the Capitoline meeting. So the regent was faced with two possibilities: not going to the meeting or participating by setting a new appointment with the regional councilors, probably already on Monday. In the end he opted for the former. The statute of the M5S justifies the absence, which in Article 7, which regulates the role of the political leader, establishes that he coordinates “the elected officials of the M5S and, in particular, the political action agreed with the leaders of the parliamentary groups.” For this, write the leaders of the group Crippa and Perilli, “the assembly is part of the normal activity that the groups carry out independently and in line with what the statute establishes. The States General have also been placed on tomorrow’s agenda and therefore, as usual, will be a topic of discussion. The group leaders will report the orientation of the assembly to the political leader ”.

A ploy, used by Crimi, to stay away from accusations that could come face to face. Accusations, not too veiled, that travel directly through Facebook. The first to say that there have been mistakes and that the regional elections could have been better organized was former political leader Luigi Di Maio, who has again been the protagonist. The assembly, called to discuss the Grillino Congress, could become the post-voting vent that saw 5Stelle lose all regions and sink to 10%.

There is a movement to rebuild. To feel the air coming in, Luigi Di Maio and Beppe Grillo were not so close since their coronation as political leader. But there would be another novelty, always according to the rumors collected in these hours, also Beppe Grillo and Davide Casaleggio have patched relationships. Proof of this is the fact that the founder of the M5S, speaking at a conference in Brussels, once again defended the Rousseau platform and the system of direct democracy. That he then did the show destroying parliamentary democracy is another story.

Returning to internal disputes, the M5 Guarantor would have seen Davide Casaleggio last week. The two spoke of a rather thorny grain, also because, as is known, the deputies and senators of the assembly intend to pose the following question: “Why do we pay the money to the Rousseau association? What title does Davide Casaleggio have? ”. Grillo tries to mediate and Casaleggio offers a proposal.

The Rousseau association could become a ‘service provider’, therefore an external figure to the Movement, gradually abandoning, step by step, the role of someone who is considered for all purposes the holder of the keys of the platform where the activists Grillini can express their vote. In short, the exit strategy would allow Milan to continue guaranteeing the payment of the 300 euros per month requested from parliamentarians and regional councilors, but with a new formula. It will be enough. It is not yet known but the parliamentarians are more combative than ever. So much so that the internal count has begun. To use the words of Roberto Fico, the gang war.

The different ‘souls’ of the Movement prepare for the appointment by making a list of ‘friends’ and ‘enemies’. “There are informal meetings on various fronts. We must keep our eyes open so as not to encounter packaged decisions dropped from above. “

The map of grilling power is more irregular than ever. Encouraged by the deputy Dalila Nesci, the think tank ‘Parole guerriere’ has developed its own proposal in view of the general states, which basically foresees the transformation of the Movement into a party: “Now it is necessary for the M5S to overcome the state of liquid movement , top-down and heterodirect and evolve towards a democratic political organization, endowed with adequate intermediate bodies and a political training school, where roles and responsibilities are well defined ”, reads the manifesto of the current, which includes several parliamentarians close to Fico : from Giuseppe Brescia (president of the Constitutional Affairs Commission) to the undersecretary of the Viminale Carlo Sibilia, passing through Luigi Gallo. And again: Giorgio Trizzino, Maurizio Cattoi, Sergio Puglia, Fabio Berardini, Carlo De Girolamo, Mirella Liuzzi, Azzurra Cancelleri, Marinella Pacifico, Maria Laura Paxia, Mara Lapia.

The need to convene a congress as soon as possible has been highlighted on several occasions by former political leader Luigi Di Maio, in favor of the hypothesis of strong and legitimate leadership and collegiate management. The Foreign Minister can still count on a large patrol of loyalists, made up of many MPs from Campania and beyond. Within the executive, the head of the Farnesina – who recently strengthened the relationship with Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and with Fico, from the point of view of the governor – has the support of ministers such as Alfonso Bonafede, Vincenzo Spadafora, Sergio Costa. . Also close to Di Maio are the undersecretary of the Palazzo Chigi Riccardo Fraccaro, the vice ministers Laura Castelli, Stefano Buffagni, Giancarlo Cancelleri and the undersecretaries Manlio Di Stefano, Alessio Villarosa, Alessandra Todde.

Among the pentastelas closest to Fico, however, is the Minister of Relations with the Parliament Federico D’Incà. The latter, together with the owner of the Mise Stefano Patuanelli, represents one of the main ‘sponsors’ of the alliance with the Democratic Party. A hug, that of the dem, supported and defended by the guarantor Grillo, as well as by Fico, and opposed by the most sovereign component (let’s think of the Venetian deputies Alvise Maniero and Raphael Raduzzi). On the other hand, the ‘anti-Rousseau’ frond, or the wing of parliamentarians critical of the current management of Davide Casaleggio’s platform, is transversal between the two chambers. Last December, Senators Primo Di Nicola, Mattia Crucioli and Emanuele Dessì were the first to call in a document for Rousseau to be placed under the direct control of the Movement. Document that could become fashionable again on Thursday during the assembly.

The return of Alessandro Di Battista to the scene was not very successful. Apart from Barbara Lezzi and Massimo Bugani, no exponent of Grillino openly sided with the former MP. In fact, Carlo Ruocco takes the opportunity to emphasize to Adnkronos that “he never really got involved. In the past decisions were made that penalized the M5S, a game of ‘friends and fireplaces’ was made ”. And it is she who first evokes the word “split”: “Maybe, but this is not a gang war. There are requirements that M5S must meet, people did not feel sufficiently involved and valued ”. This is just a sample of what will happen at the assembly on Thursday. Too bad the political leader Vito Crimi is there.
