Lyam

Lyam didn’t make it. 176 days of intensive care, care, affection and love were not enough. Her heart stopped beating today, Tuesday, September 8, a beautiful sunny day in early September. Their mothers, Emily and Manuela, they say he did not give up until the end. She has overcome many moments of crisis in recent weeks but a serious infection has been fatal. Lyam was a child tenaciously attached to life. From the day of his birth, on March 16, 2020, it was clear that the road for him would be uphill. More: it would have been an escalation.

Emily and Manuela had contacted us to tell us their story (you can find it here): they have been a couple for many years and live in Solbiate with Cagno. Their dream was to start a family and they decided to try artificial insemination. Manuela, however, suffered from gestosis and was therefore hospitalized for a month in From the bridge. At week 27, the doctors decided to perform a cesarean section. Lyam weighed only 700 grams: hospitalized in intensive care was followed by Professor Agosti’s staff. In these hours of immense pain, Emily and Manuela recall the days spent in neonatal intensive care: “They never left us alone. Never, not even a day. For us, Professor Agosti was like a father. The doctors and nurses followed us, comforted and encouraged us to the end. They didn’t cry for us, they cried with us. They told us that at Del Ponte Hospital we would find excellence, and that’s how it was. They did everything they could for our baby and we will never stop thanking them ».

It is said that “he is gone” when someone leaves this land; Lyam also left, but only physically. He will always be in the hearts of those who loved him intensely and fought with him to the end.

me funeral It will take place on Thursday, September 10 at the church of Sant’Alessandro in Solbiate con Cagno (Piazza Roma 1) at 4.30 pm. The last farewell is entrusted to Don Cesare.
