The only thing still recognizable was the large tattoo on his right shoulder. But the body of 31-year-old Luana Rainone, who disappeared on July 23, was as reduced as can be reduced to a corpse abandoned for more than forty days.

The confession

Her husband reported her missing and the investigations launched by the carabineros had long focused on Nicola Del Sorbo, a 34-year-old from Poggiomarino with stories of drug addiction and convictions for extortion and violence against former in-laws.
Seven children
Married, separated and later linked to another woman, Del Sorbo had four children from his wife and three from his new partner.
The police came to him collecting testimonies from people who knew him and also knew Luana well, and reconstructing the movements of both on the afternoon of July 23.
Then on Thursday night, he was arrested and taken to the barracks, where a dramatic all-night interrogation began, during which Del Sorbo admitted to killing Luana Rainone by hitting her on the neck with a kitchen knife.
He wanted a relationship
According to his version, the woman pressured him to have a stable relationship with him and even coexistence.
The day Luana disappeared, they were in the man’s house, little more than a shack not far from the bathtub where the body was found, and again, according to the confession, they first used drugs together and then had a violent argument. When she threw her phone at me, I lost control. I grabbed the knife and beat her, said Del Sorbo, trying to at least partially mitigate his responsibilities, before being prosecuted for voluntary murder and concealment of the body and being transferred to Fuorni prison (Salerno), where he should be on Monday. Mourning the city
On San Valentino Torio, Mayor Michele Strianese announced the city’s mourning for the day of the funeral (the date will be set after the autopsy) and suspended all demonstrations, including electoral ones. Only the torchlight procession in memory of Luana that will take place tonight is authorized
