Lombardy will not be yellow – Corriere.it

The yellow corridor from south to north

Thus, for the Immaculate Conception bridge, thousands of Italians will be able to take the car again after a long time and go from one Region to another through an unexpected yellow corridor, which would allow for example to pass from Reggio Calabria to reach Venice without further ado the nightmare of patrols and checkpoints. And even the list could get richer in the next few hours: even Tuscany, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the autonomous province of Bolzano, in fact, according to rumors, they could change color: Tuscany would change from red to orange, like Alto Adige, while Friuli Venezia Giulia would turn yellow again.

From Reggio to Venice without barricades

And here it is, therefore, the free corridor that nobody could have imagined until a few days ago: from Calabria to Basilicata to Puglia and then to Molise, Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto until reaching Trieste and Trentino (which has been yellow for some time). Restaurants that reopen (until 6 in the afternoon), stores that begin to breathe again, the economy begins again. The signs are good in many parts of Italy: the Deputy Minister of Health, Pierpaolo Sileri, had met two days ago with the governor of Basilicata, Vito Bardi, congratulating him on the regional management of the Covid.

Massive projection in Brands

Last Friday, the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, had heard on the phone with the president of the Marches, Francesco Acquaroli. Even then, an encouraging forecast: the Marches, among other things, are poised to follow in the footsteps of South Tyrol with a mass screening project targeting the population that will take place in the coming weeks. The situation is different in Puglia, where there are still some worrisome outbreaks, as if to push Governor Michele Emiliano to hypothesize new restrictive ordinances, establishing red zones even if the region, on Sunday, December 6, turned yellow again. According to the next Dpcm, we remind you that those who live in the Regions in the yellow band will in fact be able to move freely until December 20, when the Christmas parade will be activated for all. Sure, in short, for the next two weeks there will be no travel restrictions.

The hard government-Val d’Aosta clash

But Lombardy and Piedmont? They also hope to go back to yellow, but for now they may be forced to wait in the orange zone, since it takes at least 14 days to change to a color with less restrictions according to the rules established by the government. And Lombardy and Piedmont are orange only as of November 29. The Aosta Valley also expects a change of color, the protagonist during the last hours of a very tough confrontation with the government, after the Regional Council approved a law that vindicates the autonomy of the Alpine region in the health management of the coronavirus. The last act of a tug of war that yesterday also recorded a heated exchange of letters: the Minister of Regional Affairs, Francesco Boccia, invited the President of the Region Erik Lavevaz to revoke his order to open the retail trade, except for the area red. But the answer was negative, in fact Lavevaz was relaunched with the intention of challenging the order of Health Minister Speranza. Boccia incredulous: The governor’s statements undermine loyal cooperation. In the end, the Minister of Justice, Alfonso Bonafede, also announced an appeal against the recently approved regional law. But the war continues.
