Life-saving vaccines in Lombardy are proceeding at a dizzying pace. And the Region, as of Sunday morning, January 3, is among the worst in Italy in the ranking of vaccines delivered / administered. In fact, in the area where the pandemic has done the most damage, 80,595 doses of the drug produced by Pfizer arrived but only 2,416 were inoculated. Practically only 3% of those delivered. Worse than us (in percentage terms) only Sardinia (2.3%) and Molise (1.3%).
But Giulio Gallera, Councilor for Wellbeing, tries to calm the controversy: «The vaccination of the personnel of the Asst, Irccs, private hospital and RSA will begin on Monday, January 4, according to the original schedule of the General Directorate of Wellbeing. An initial administration capacity of up to a maximum of 10,000 daily doses is expected, which can subsequently be increased to 15,000 ”.
As of January 4, the 65 centers chosen by the Region will be active on the vaccination front. “These numbers – underlines the commissioner – may cover the need to cover the health population of the structures in order to achieve the requirement of Covid-free, respecting the deadline set for all regions, at the end of February, with the booster dose at 21 days. Whoever uses the rankings referring to three days, one of which is a holiday, to continue mounting spurious controversies, shows the absence of institutional and political responsibility ”.
According to the calendar announced by Gallera, 88,920 doses will be delivered on January 4, another 200,000 scarce between 11 and 18, up to half a million on January 30. The goal is to vaccinate 343,000 doctors and RSAs.
