A 4-year-old boy died today in Castagneto Carducci, a Donoratico hamlet, run over by the school bus before the eyes of his mother and dozens of parents who were going to pick up their children from school. The accident occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. in the center of the town in the province of Livorno. As reconstructed by first responders, the boy had been riding his bicycle and suddenly appeared on the street among the cars parked near the curb when he was hit by the passing school bus. The Pegasus helicopter had also activated and landed on the soccer field, but the little boy was no longer breathing.
