Lega funds, hunt for 49 million: Treasury registers the offices of the municipality of Bondeno: “900 thousand euros arrived from the party”

The search for League funding continues. There Guardia di Finanza of Genoa registered the offices of the municipality of Bondeno, in the province of Ferrara. The search was ordered within the framework of the investigation into recycling of the 49 million euros obtained from Carroccio as electoral returns thanks to manipulated budgets at the time of the leader’s management Umberto Bossi and the former treasurer Francesco Belsito.

The military took documentary and computer material on the payment of sums transferred to accounts that could be in the orbit of the Northern League. The municipality has long been administered by members of the League. According to the accusatory hypothesis, around 900 thousand euros have reached the coffers of the municipality. The figure, according to the researchers, was collected through an account opened by Francesco Belsito at the Alletti bank when he was party treasurer. The sum was initially transferred to the Regional League of Emilia Romagna, which in turn would have returned it as a donation to the municipality of Bondeno.

The city is a true fiefdom of the League. Here the center right He has governed uninterruptedly for almost 20 years and in the European Championship a year ago, the League was close to 50%. The new mayor Simone Saletti, elected to the municipal elections last weekend, is in continuity with his two predecessors: Fabio Bergamini (He joined the regional council, of which he was deputy) and before for ten years Alan Fabbri, current mayor of Ferrara, torn in June 2019 from the center-left that led him since 1945.

Always in the same line of investigation to the military, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Francesco Pinto and for the alternate Paola Calleri, he had carried out another search last August: that of the Milan office of Boniardi Grafiche srl, of which he is a partner Fabio Massimo Boniardi, elected in 2018 by the Carroccio to the Chamber. The investigation into the Carroccio funds, opened two and a half years ago, continues unabated with the hypothesis that I 49 million of electoral reimbursements obtained by the party between 2008 and 2010, falsifying reports and budgets (as confirmed by the Supreme Court, which nevertheless declared the crimes Umberto Bossi and for the treasurer Belsito), were actually concealed to avoid confiscation. The magistrates are chasing the thousand streams in which, in their opinion, the money would have run out.
