(ANSA) – BÉRGAMO, NOVEMBER 19 – An ambulance parked in the emergency room of the Treviglio hospital, in the province of Bergamo, was stolen to return home after being discharged: for this reason a 23-year-old woman was reported years free from the carabinieri. The robbery last night, shortly after midnight. The young woman had just come out of Treviglio’s emergency department (from the Asst Bergamo Ovest) and got into an ambulance that had the keys inserted into the dashboard, starting it up to go home. The health personnel immediately alerted 112 to report the incident, so the operator of the Treviglio Carabinieri operations center sent patrols on duty, employed in the control services to contain the spread of Covid- 19, to intercept the vehicle, also making use of the GPS tracking system with which the ambulance is equipped. A few minutes later, the vehicle reached Arcene, a town near Treviglio, where the ambulance was intercepted in via Matteotti. Now the 23-year-old has to answer for aggravated robbery. (HANDLE).
