Rome, October 22, 2020 – Three citizens of Indian nationality were arrested by Latino police on suspicion of having raped a 12-year-old girl. The three were guests in the house of the child’s parents in Fondi during lockdown. When the girl’s parents were absent, according to the indictment, they sexually abused the girl on several occasions. The suspects would also have threatened every time The young woman ordered her not to say anything to her father, to leave for work reasons.

The violence against the victim, also of Indian nationality, would have occurred in the period between March to April 2020. The three, denounced by the mother of the minor under 12, are in custody, issued by the Latin Prosecutor’s Office, for the crime of group sexual violence, aggravated by younger age of the victim.

The three defendants, all Indians, were pending regularization their position in the Italian territory, for which they were housed at the victim’s home during the Covid-19 health emergency.

Investigators listened to the victim in a protected environment, according to protocols on women and minors, to reconstruct the attacks.
