Less than 24 hours after the reopening of schools also in the province of Brescia, the first positive case is reported among the tens of thousands of students who returned to class. The case actually dates back to a few days earlier, in a kindergarten – the municipal kindergarten – in Offlaga (which, we recall, reopened its doors last week).
Positive child, class in isolation
As reported by the Corriere della Sera, the first to report it, the child’s positivity was revealed last Friday: asymptomatic, it would be a contagion in the family. But a few days ago, as mentioned, the little boy had already returned to school: hence the decision of the Ats – the Health Protection Agency – to isolate all his companions and teachers and operators who came into contact.
Other restrictive measures and in any case a carpet testing campaign are not excluded: the positive child has two siblings who attend primary and secondary school. Also in Offlaga another alleged “Covid case” shakes the nursery, this time the parochial school. This is where one of the teachers would come in contact with a positive case (outside of school).
Teacher at risk: the children all at home
As a precautionary measure, all the children in her section (fifteen in total) stayed home before classes began, awaiting test results. The first swab was negative, apparently the second was also negative: the children returned to kindergarten on Wednesday morning, about ten days late.

With the reopening of schools, the Region has also drawn up a generalized “Anti-Covid Plan” that can be replicated in all institutions, including Brescia. Then, each school, in agreement with the municipal and provincial administrations, has developed its own “Safety Protocol” for returning to school, evaluating all possible scenarios (including that of a positivity among the classrooms).
