(ANSA) – TOKYO, DECEMBER 12 – The alarm of an expansion of bird flu in Japan expands nationally, as the country is in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, with the Ministry of Agriculture calling all 47 prefectures from the archipelago to conduct comprehensive inspections of regional farms and update the authorities on the spot. To date, around 2.5 million chickens have been slaughtered in just over a month, surpassing the record of 1.83 million animals slaughtered in the last seasonal infection in 2010. A figure set to rise later. from the latest report from a farm in western Okayama prefecture, yesterday, and the start of another massive cull, equal to 646,000 units.
