The mother does not stop crying. We will bury them in Turin: God is everywhere », says Fatima.

After the news, many phone calls followed. «I still remember when I hugged my granddaughters – says the grandmother – before they left. They were so happy. How will we do it now? ». The father and older sister were saved because they had gone out to fix the tent that was in danger of being blown away by the wind. Then that terrible accident. The older sister was in shock: she couldn’t even understand what her father was saying to her at the time. The younger sister, aged two and a half, died almost immediately. The 14-year-old was not: she was lucid until she got to the hospital. As a fighter, she was a judo promise, she fought. Then she said to her uncle after the accident: ‘Uncle, you’ll see that everything went well. Now I go to the hospital, but then I go home with you. You see. ”Instead, she finally gave up as well.

And mom can’t find peace. “Now I’m alone. I have to go home without two of my girls. We had come to the sea because Malak liked it very much. The family had chosen this year not to return to Morocco as usual. There was the coronavirus and caution is never too much That is precisely why he had decided to stay one more day at that campsite. “They did not feel like traveling in bad weather,” explains the grandmother.

Not a whirlwind, but a strong storm. But then the tree that killed the two little sisters at the Verde Mare camp in Tuscany was it dangerous? The Massa Carrara prosecutor has opened an investigation to identify those responsible and understand if this tragedy could be avoided. Today an agronomist will be commissioned to establish what state the tree was in and if it was foreseeable that it could fall. In short, we try to understand if that tree should be cut down by the owners of the campsite because it is dangerous. The roots seemed dry, the trunk split into several parts. The experts also explained this by viewing the images.

He said, the girls’ uncle, who was on vacation with them, is furious: “You can’t die for a tree.” Last Saturday and Sunday, the Tuscan civil protection had issued an orange alert for bad weather and the prosecutor now wants to know if all the security procedures have been followed at that campsite a stone’s throw from the sea. At the same time, the prosecutor ordered the autopsy of the bodies of the little sisters, to establish the exact causes of death. The youngest died on the way to the hospital, her 14-year-old sister three hours later. “We tried everything to save her, but her condition seemed desperate immediately,” explained the hospital doctors in Pulp.

The father, mother, sister and brother who slept on the other side of the tent were saved by a miracle. “We felt the ground shake and saw the tent collapse – they told rescuers in shock – the tent deflated like a punctured balloon, then we saw the tree trunk and Jannat and Malal were underneath.” The father picked up the youngest daughter, screamed in the rain, cried desperately trying to revive her. The help of 118 and the firefighters was timely. The doctor who arrived at the scene also requested the intervention of the rescue helicopter, which was impossible due to bad weather.
The family is still upset. After the tragedy, the parents and the other two children spent the night in a hotel in Massa. The City Council has taken steps to find accommodation for the Moroccan family, who are now waiting to bring the bodies of Malak Lassiri, 14, and her sister Jannet, 3, back home to Turin, where they live, and to carry out the funeral. “We just want to take them with us. Now I am with God ».
