Covid, Sileri attacks the CTS:

Clash between the government and the scientific technical committee on the management of the Covid-19 emergency. More correctly: the Deputy Minister of Health, Pierpaolo Sileri, last night live on La7’s Dimartedì program, harshly attacked the committee, made up of scientists, which suggests to the government the best actions to fight the epidemic.

Pressed on the length of the quarantine for positive case contacts and the long waits for swabs, Sileri said: “There is too much bureaucracy at CTS. We need to reduce quarantine and make diagnosis easier. This is the task of a technical scientific committee to which applications arrive. We are waiting for the green light for saliva tests. We need to release people from quarantines, to make sure there is an easier diagnosis. “

Subsequently, Sileri – representative of the government that appointed the CTS – went further: “In July I proposed rapid tests, I am still waiting for answers from the CTS. And I also raised an issue: clarify who enters intensive care, how many leave, what are the characteristics, what are the comorbidities of the deceased ”. To CTS professor Luca Richeldi, present at the study, who noted that the Committee is working tirelessly to examine all government requests and that authorizing unreliable tests could be dangerous, Sileri responded: “The Cts is in the service of politics. “It is not otherwise. If the United States has decided that saliva tests can be used, it may be necessary to extend its use also in Italy.”

The attack by the Vice Minister provoked the reaction of the Scientific Technical Committee that will meet in the next few hours to respond.
