Ischia Award, Giovanna Botteri ‘Journalist of the Year’ – Politics

“Telling and living the pandemic was a terrible experience, I had to speak with my country two months in advance about what would also happen in Italy later: the infections, the dead, the confinement, the ghostly spectacle of Beijing, a city of 24 million of inhabitants that at dusk emptied out due to the curfew ”. This is how Giovanna Botteri, a correspondent for Rai from Beijing, was recognized as ‘journalist of the year’ by the 2020 Ischia Award. This was decided by the Award jury, chaired by Giulio Anselmi, president of the ANSA agency.

Botteri will receive the award during the closing ceremony of the 41st edition of the Award, which will be held tonight at Villa Arbusto, in Lacco Ameno: awards also for Gianni Minà, for photojournalist Andrea Frazzetta, for TG2 director Gennaro Sangiuliano, for Giulio Gambino director of TPI and for the director of L’Eco di Bergamo, Alberto Ceresoli.

The evening will be led by Roberta Ammendola, with musical interventions by Michele Zarrillo and Mario Biondi.
The 41st edition of the Ischia Award is organized with the contribution of the Campania Region and the sponsorship of the Istituto di Credito Sportivo, the Automobile Club of Italy) of the Unipol Group, ACEA Spa, Terna spa, Menarini Group spa, Data Stampa, ASPI.
